Rob’s Journey

Rob Spee is a husband, dad, entrepreneur, global IT channel professional and the founder of Channel Journeys. He craves adventure, loves cycling and skiing in the mountains and sailing across the ocean.

Rob’s expertise is in accelerating growth and opening new routes to market through 1 and 2-tier distribution channels.  Over the past 20 years, he has developed an expertise in developing and executing visionary channel strategies. He knows how to build global partner ecosystems and drive performance-driven channel organizations.

With a Petroleum Engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines, Rob got his start as a Drilling Engineer. He first worked on offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. When oil prices collapsed, he was transferred to the international oil trading team. That inspired Rob to get an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management.  He then transitioned into high-tech and launched his channel career as an International Channel Sales Manager.

Intrigued by foreign cultures at a young age, Rob developed his international business and foreign language skills studying, living, and working in Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific.

Rob is often reading sailing magazines, a history or a spy novel, and a business advice or personal development book at the same time. After becoming a fan of podcasts, he decided to launch his own. Some of his favorites books and podcasts include:
